King
Kong Vs Godzilla remake
The movie King Kong vs Godzilla was filmed
in 1962. At that time, people thought they realized that there were two
different versions of the movie. Thus, the myth of the two endings
began, because while the Japanese version showed Godzilla winning, the
Hollywood version showed King Kong as the winner.
But this isn't even the main difference between these two movie
versions. When the United States releases a Godzilla movie, they add or
delete footage for the American audience. In this case, the alterations
made what was originally a mix of horror and sci-fi movie a pure sci-fi
movie. The Hollywood version only used roughly 80% of the Japanese
version.
Actually, both versions have the same ending, visually speaking.
Godzilla returns to the sea and King Kong swims away. Neither one beats
the other, but the soundtrack is different, and fans point to this to
support their belief in the myth of different endings. The American
version had no Godzilla roar, and the Japanese version had a Godzilla
roar after the final Kong roar.
Many King Kong vs Godzilla fans believe that since Kong alone is heard
in the U.S. version, that we were supposed to believe that King Kong
won. But it may be simpler than that. The right approach commercially
was to have King Kong win, but the unsure ending left the door open for
the continued evolution of Godzilla.
These days, any updates about a future King Kong vs Godzilla movie are
met with skepticism by many fans. It seems too good to be true. In
addition, the Godzilla film company uses live actors in rubber suits
and costumes, stomping on miniature cars, etc., while Hollywood prefers
computer-generated imagery, or CGI. Despite the last film, the new film
might well be a financial success. Forums online and sites that stream
video have shown there is a push underground for a replay of the duel.
There is also to be considered a classic comic remake. These movies
have a genre that is all their own. The Japanese film company
understands that if there is another King Kong vs Godzilla, movie, that
it will need to be attractive to a broad audience. The Togo company
won't betray their fan base and head straight to CGI rather than using
people and miniatures, without knowing if their fans would accept this.
By the same token, Universal Studios will never agree to rubber
costumes.
The craze for the King Kong and Godzilla toys is as strong as ever. The
Final Wars action figures based on the 2004 movie still sell well. The
Final Wars began the production of action figures that have since
become collectible, and of course children love to play with the
monsters. One positive approach is to package the collection into one
purchase, and give it to someone as a whole collection. Other monsters
are also available, and together with Godzilla, they can turn your
child's play room into a fun and fierce arena.
